Introduction

An overview about Tooling Metrics and how to get started to implement digital machining

Welcome to Tooling Metrics!

This section provides an overview of what Tooling Metrics is and how it supports your digital machining by introducing its features, user interface, and the digital tool flow. Then, we will guide you through the digital machining process by executing a machining project for a sample part in a vertical machining center—starting with designing the machining process and ending with generating reports to evaluate the project’s productivity and cost.

By the end of this section, you will have hands-on experience with various tasks using the Tooling Metrics interface to complete the demo project. At the same time, you will gain a fundamental understanding of how Tooling Metrics supports your team in implementing a digital machining strategy.

We assume you have a basic knowledge of the machining process and a willingness to enhance your machine’s productivity and efficiency using digital technology. Experience with CAM software like Autodesk Fusion for programming your machine is beneficial but not required.

Let’s get started!
